Hard working

For the last 17 years I’ve worked at Hasbro Children’s Hospital with dedication, efficiency, and integrity. The importance of hard work and respect was a big deal in my family from an early age. I worked my way up from an entry-level position to Academic Administrator. I like helping people and I love this city. This is where I chose to raise my family. Now I'd like to use the skills from my career to make a difference in the city I love.

It has been my honor to serve on the Human Rights Council these past three years. It has allowed me to work on many projects that align with my passions for transparency, equality, and inclusion. As Chair of the Council on Human Rights, I’ve seen how we serve as a bridge between residents and the administration. While the issues that the Council tackles are varied, my focus has always been on removing obstacles before they become barriers for the city’s residents. If elected I hope to build on the work of our current City Clerk and make City Hall more accessible than it has ever been.

I’ve volunteered with the Soup for Heat program, which was unfortunately cancelled this year due to the pandemic.
I was a part of the Attleboro Centennial celebration and have marched in many Memorial Day parades with my daughter for the Girl Scouts.
And I‘ve enjoyed being a part of the choir at my church - again, before covid.
Before I helped establish the Attleboro chapter of PFLAG, where I’ve served as Clerk for more than five years, the closest chapters were in Boston or Providence. That was a barrier for families who wanted to support their child who was coming out as LGBTQ.

Qualified

In 2019 I earned my undergraduate degree from Fisher College in Media Communications. Getting a degree was a struggle as a working parent. It wasn't easy to juggle college coursework on top of a regular workday and family time. I was lucky that there was an online option for what I needed. Modern solutions like this made it possible to do the work I needed to do for my family's future.

I’ve built upon an office system that I inherited from my predecessor that manages an office with vast and complicated protocols that have far reaching implications for the physicians and faculty involved.
I’ve implemented technological upgrades and streamlined processes where appropriate to make our office more efficient.
I’ve been awarded several customer service awards, in part because I believe everyone deserves to be treated with kindness and respect.

I work with administrators at Brown University to:

coordinate meetings for faculty development,
maintain physicians’ educational records,
ensure the accuracy and archiving of minutes at executive meetings,
and guide eight fellowship coordinators in recording fellowship education
Attending Physicians have Brown faculty appointments and when they excel, they are up for promotion and awards for teaching, research, and clinical work and I coordinate and track it.

I maintain the pediatric physicians’ administrative history to help them focus on the future, and that’s what I’d like to do for Attleboro.
