Meet Laurie
Hard workingFor the last 17 years I’ve worked at Hasbro Children’s Hospital with dedication, efficiency, and integrity. The importance of hard work and respect was a big deal in my family from an early age. I worked my way up from an entry-level position to Academic Administrator. I like helping people and I love this city. This is where I chose to raise my family. Now I'd like to use the skills from my career to make a difference in the city I love. |
TrustedIt has been my honor to serve on the Human Rights Council these past three years. It has allowed me to work on many projects that align with my passions for transparency, equality, and inclusion. As Chair of the Council on Human Rights, I’ve seen how we serve as a bridge between residents and the administration. While the issues that the Council tackles are varied, my focus has always been on removing obstacles before they become barriers for the city’s residents. If elected I hope to build on the work of our current City Clerk and make City Hall more accessible than it has ever been. |

QualifiedIn 2019 I earned my undergraduate degree from Fisher College in Media Communications. Getting a degree was a struggle as a working parent. It wasn't easy to juggle college coursework on top of a regular workday and family time. I was lucky that there was an online option for what I needed. Modern solutions like this made it possible to do the work I needed to do for my family's future.
